This site (evansakanyijuka.art) and its shop are operated by Evans Akanyijuka, an independent visual artist based in Kampala, Uganda ("I", "me"). By ordering a print or item through this site, you agree to the terms below.
What's for sale
Two kinds of items are listed: signed, numbered limited-edition archival pigment prints (edition sizes stated on each piece), and handmade merch such as screen-printed totes. Handmade items are made in small batches — slight variation between individual units (print placement, fabric tone) is normal and part of the object, not a fault.
Pricing & how an order is confirmed
Prices shown exclude shipping. Most prints and all merch are sold by direct inquiry (WhatsApp or email) — no sale is final and no payment is due until you and I have agreed on the piece, size, price, shipping cost, and payment method. Where card/mobile-money checkout is offered directly on the site, the order is confirmed once Pesapal verifies payment as complete.
Payment
Card and mobile money payments (MTN MoMo, Airtel Money) are processed by Pesapal, a licensed third-party payment provider. I never see or store your card number or mobile money PIN. Payment-specific disputes (e.g. a mobile money prompt that didn't complete) may need to be raised with Pesapal or your provider directly, in addition to contacting me.
Shipping
Pieces ship worldwide from Kampala. You are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by your country on arrival — these are not included in the listed price. Once a package is handed to the courier, risk of loss or damage in transit passes to the courier; I'll provide tracking where available and will help however I can with a claim, but I'm not liable for carrier delays or loss once dispatched.
Returns & refunds
- Limited-edition prints: final sale once the order is confirmed and paid — no refunds for change of mind, given each numbered print is a one-off allocation from a fixed edition.
- Damaged or defective items: contact me within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage/defect and its packaging. I'll offer a replacement (where the edition allows) or a refund, at my discretion.
- Handmade merch: natural variation between units (see above) is not grounds for return.
- Custom or commissioned work: non-refundable once production has started.
Cancellations
You may cancel an inquiry-based order any time before payment is made or production begins, at no cost. I reserve the right to cancel or decline any order — for example on suspected fraud, a pricing error, or an item no longer being available — in which case any payment already received will be refunded in full.
Copyright
Buying a print or piece of merch transfers ownership of that physical object only. It does not transfer copyright, and the image may not be reproduced, reprinted, scanned for reproduction, or used commercially without my written permission.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, my liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
